Researchers at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), Academic Medical Center (AMC-UvA) and Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) have received an IOP grant worth almost 1 million euros for the IMPACT research project. They received this amount within the framework of the IOP Photonic Devices 2010 project round organised by the NL Agency, an agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. This brings the total project budget to 1.5 million euros.
The research groups of Dr. H. Zhang from the UvA’s Van 't Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences, Dr M. Aalders of the AMC-UvA and Prof. C. Löwik from the LUMC are all participating together in this project focusing on medical nanotechnology. The research should make it easier to find tumors, delimit them well and treat them more precisely. (UvA)
