Amsterdam is the knowledge centre of the Netherlands. The city has two universities, two colleges of higher education and its own Science Park. A third university is recently added: Amsterdam University College (AUC). All this has put Amsterdam at the top of the rankings.
The Amsterdam Faculty of Science (also called FNWI) is located at Science Park Amsterdam. The faculty offers higher education in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science and Life Sciences, but it houses also ten research institutes.
In 2012 AUC (recently located at the city center) will move to Science Park Amsterdam. Students will be able to take advantage of the knowledge available on site and the special research that takes place there. With Amsterdam University College the city aims to provide a facility for exceptionally talented and motivated students.
With the FNWI and its ten research institutes, the many ICT and Life Science companies and the many knowledge institutes of great international importance Science Park Amsterdam is the beating heart of knowledge city Amsterdam. An ideal place to study.
