Linking Science with Business

Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship @ Science Park stimulates and supports entrepreneurship based on innovative research from Science faculties and research institutes.

ACE @ Science Park organizes seminars, workshops and networking activities throughout the year. In these activities we focus on entrepreneurship based on technological innovation and entrepreneurship based on beta science research. Take a look at events too see when the next activity will take place.

ACE @ Science Park was established by the Faculty of Science, Mathematics and Computer Science, and the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Amsterdam and by Science Park Amsterdam.

The common objectives of promoting entrepreneurship (education) are bundled within the organization Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship. This is a collaboration between ACE @ Science Park, ACE @ UvA, ACE @ VU, and ACE @ HvA.

Our program "Linking Science with Business' starts twice a year. Master students that are enrolled in the courses International Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship in Science and Technology write a business plan based on innovative research in this program.

The 'Linking Science with Business' program starts with a research project from a research institute. ACE @ Science Park then links the research to a team of Master students. They write a business plan, assisted by ACE @ Science Park. If the business plan is completed, students have the opportunity to actually participate in the start-up. Then these plans are screened by a team of professionals for feasibility. SMEs and entrepreneurs from the Amsterdam region will be involved in order to set up a Business Team.
At the Science Park a the launching customer can be found and the business team can actually start a university spin-off.
